Sue Watkins, owner of Watkins Event Service, has played fairs, festivals, and special events throughout the West Coast for over 25 years, and is a long standing member of the Western Fairs Association.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Watkins Event Service has over 26 years experience in the Fair and Food Service Industries. Sole owner Susan Watkins has devoted her life and career to the Fair and Entertainment Industries. Ms. Watkins completed the first Fair Management Courses offered at Cal Poly State University while there attaining her Bachelors Degree. She has since created and operated a number of different businesses within the fair industry, all of which required excellent management, organizational and communication skills. 

In additional to her multi-award winning Animal Ark Petting Zoo, the Living Carousel Pony Rides and the Carousel Novelty Company.  Ms. Watkins has operated food businesses including “The Dandy Candy Company”, and “Dandy Doggies” Mobile Hot Dog Carts. Her mobile Concession Trailers include “Spud City”, a baked potato trailer with full vegetarian entries and the “Elemonader” Giant Lemon-Lemonade Stand.  For 3 years Watkins Event Service was the highest grossing food stand at the Placer County Fair with “Cactus Bob’s Texas BBQ”.  Also providing the Placer Fair’s Livestock department with a full service food stand with extended days and hours. From 2002 thru four racing seasons Watkins Event Service provided all the Food and Souvenir Stands to The All American Speedway auto race track in Roseville. The eLEMONADER will be the exclusive stand booked for 2011.

Ms. Watkins has always been a very active member of many industry related organizations.  As a 28-year member of the Western Fairs Association, she served 8 terms on the Service Member Board and 3 on the Industry Standards Committee.  She was also chosen to participate in the WFA Service Member Leadership Program.  She was honored with a Lifetime Membership in 2009.  

Watkins Event Service’s exhibits have won many industry awards including the 2005 Superior Concession Stand award at the Alameda County Fair. A supporter of many community activities, she is a retired volunteer firefighter, a past member of the Sacramento Sheriff Search and Rescue Unit and an avid horse trainer. Susan is a highly motivated individual; she is very easy to work with and is known for her innovative ideas, dependability and reliability.  Ms. Watkins has worked with fair type food concessions for over 25 years and she has her ServSafe Certification as well as compliance with all laws required by the State of California.
